Boston's right-hander gave up just 2 hits in his 1st shutout of the season. He now has 41 career shutouts in 564 games started. 'Giving my team a chance to win is the most important thing for me. I was able to do it today.' Drysdale (2-0) was overpowering, fanning 11 while walking none, throwing 115 pitches. Steve Garvey helped Drysdale at the plate, he stroked 3 hits in 4 AB, blasting a homerun, hitting 2 doubles, scoring twice and collecting 2 RBI. Boston scored 8 runs on 12 hits. |

Tuesday 4/4/1970: Tom Tresh slams 3 HR WASHINGTON - Tom Tresh was in a groove, and the results spoke for themselves. He powered New York (A) to a 14-10 win over Washington by homering three times. A pitch from Don Nottebart in the 2nd inning left his bat for a three-run homerun, landing 372 feet from home plate in right field.
